Gary Lang first became acquainted with soft tissue tools in the 1980’s while working for Crowl Physical Therapy and Sacramento City College in Northern California. Gary was introduced to the foundations of manual therapy under the direction of Bob Moore ATC PT, Don Torrey ATC PT, Michael Moore PT and Loren “Bear” Rex D.O. all pioneering “hands on” practitioners. Throughout his work over the decades with the United States Olympic Committee, the U.S. Track and Field Association, FIFA and IAAF, Gary was introduced to a wide range of soft tissue implements made from wood, ceramic, plastic polymers, rubber, jade, metals and stainless steel, all designed to manipulate soft tissue. While expanding his experiences, Gary realized that instruments designed with multiple asymmetrical curves–both concave and convex–would better fit the variety of anatomical structures of the human body.
Gary has been an Athletic Trainer / Orthopedic Manual Therapist for more than 30 years. Learning Soft Tissue Skills at Crowl Physical Therapy in Sacramento. Gary was introduced to techniques by International Physical Therapists ( Switzerland, Norway, Australia ) creating his 3 – Dimensonal Soft Tissue Manipulation Applications. Gary was the professor of Sports Medicine at Foothill College 1988 – 2019 serving as the Head Athletic Trainer during his first 15 years , managing a patient schedule at M.O.R.E. Physical Therapy for 8 years
For two decades, Gary also worked for the United States Olympic Committee, FIFA, IAAF, U.S. Track and Field Association, U.S. Gymnastics Associations and local athletic organizations covering a variety of National & World Championships, Pan-American Games, World University Games and two Olympic Games.
Gary was Medical Coordinator for World Cup 94 at Stanford University; East-West Shrine Bowl for 12 years; Visa Gymnastics National Championships and for the Pacific Rim Gymnastics Open. Gary balanced his athletic medical coverage with patient care at Balance Physical Therapy until retiring from Faculty Academics in Sports Medicine at Foothill College receiving the Award of Excellence from the President and Board of Trustees.
Today, Gary’s professional focus is with his private patients and his “hands on” course / workshops in Manual Therapy. He instructs for Graduate Programs in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine and Physical & Occupational Therapy. His Private courses are offered throughout the USA, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Gary Lang has been providing Dynamic Release training to the CBU MSAT for 10 years. We appreciate the evidence-based approach and how Gary Lang consistently provides new and innovative ways for students to incorporate ISTM in their clinical practice. I recommend this training to other MSAT programs to assist in further enhancing the clinical skills of their students.
We have been incorporating Dynamic Release courses into the curriculum of a professional Master of Science in Athletic Training Program for many years. We selected Dynamic Release due to the quality of the instruments, affordability of the course/instruments, and the ISTM treatment/application philosophy that Gary Lang teaches in his courses.
Our students enjoy taking the course with Gary and (more importantly) they are able to transfer the skills learned in the course to their patient care efficiently. I would recommend this course to Program Directors looking to incorporate this training into their program curriculum, as well as to students and clinicians who want to utilize ISTM in their clinical practice.
Dynamic Release is instrumental in giving our players an effective and efficient mode of recovery from chronic injuries sustained from playing baseball every day. Our players love the instruments!
I was really inspired with Gary Lang’s workshop in Dubai, “Fascia to Function” ! It changed my perspective about fascia, Myofascial release and instruments used in Manual Therapy. I now own the complete set of his one-of-a-kind Instruments and have seen, first hand, the improvement it has on Pain, Range of Motion and Overall Function in my Patients.
As a professional women’s ice hockey player (LULEA Hockey Association Sweden), Olympian, and former NCAA Division I Student-Athlete, maintaining peak performance is essential. I’ve tried countless forms of soft tissue treatments, but Dynamic Release is a product that truly stands out. Each tool is specifically designed to provide extremely precise relief by releasing tension in the muscles and fascia, improving circulation, flexibility, reducing muscle tightness, and an overall increased range of motion. With my feet and ankles constantly in skates, the DRT #3 provides exact release points for my feet to unwind after hours on the ice. Dynamic Release restores my mobility better than any other method. These tools allow me to recover faster, move better, and perform at my best. Whether you’re an elite athlete or someone just looking to improve mobility and reduce pain, I highly recommend Dynamic release.
When building a clinic from scratch, I sought only essential equipment. Dynamic
Release instruments were the very first product on my list. To this day, I use Dynamic
Release daily with my athletes. The instruments feel great in my hands and my athletes
love how it makes them feel. Truly Indispensable !
As a hands-on practitioner and clinician, integrating Dynamic Release tools has been a game-changer. Whether providing care in the high-volume, fast-paced environment of
Stanford Athletics or working with the USA Wrestling Olympic team, these tools have offered an ergonomically comfortable solution for manual therapy. In my current role
within the private concierge wellness program at Aperion Life, Dynamic Release tools continue to serve me reliably in treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions.”

Dynamic Release Instruments, using the 3-D applications, are like “MAGIC” for the UTR professional women’s tennis tournament held at the Palm Hotel in Dubai. Players recover faster and report decreased pain with improved performance !
